Darma started performing on National Level events at the age of 5. As per her parents, she could receive dance education as long as she made another "serious career". So, as a good girl, she followed Language and Literature at Havana University, other "serious studies" in Aviation: "Traffic Control" and "Airport Traffic", "Visual Communications" and finally graduated as "Polyvalent Instructor" at ENART Brisas del Mar in Habana del Este, 1993.

During those years of "serious" studies, received paralelly an intensive "non serious" art education. Private tuition, after-school schools, evening classes and weekend stages were part of her normal life.

In 1993 started her own showbizz productions in Havana City working together with outstanding figures in the artistic world. Under auspice of the Ministry of Culture and the National Tourism Institute produced and performed more than 40 shows combining different plastic and performing disciplines.

In 1994 started working very closedly with the Agencia Artística de Artes Escénicas (AAAE) (Artistic Agency of Performing Arts) in Havana. Mastered and conducted several shows, concerts and ceremonies with famous bands like NG La Banda, Paulo y su Elite, Orquesta Dan Den, Grupo Mi Son, Pello el Afrokán, Celina González, Olber Vargas and Los Cinco among many others. She also taught dance to several european groups in collaboration with "Karl Marx National Theater" in Havana.

Landed in Belgium in 1995 and started her first courses in Leuven with Wisper (salsa docente for four consecutive years); de Cultuurdienst KU Leuven (for two consecutive years) . She has been a dance instructor for regular courses and workshops in Belgium since, for both private groups and well-known organisations.

Her full curriculum would be too long to publish here, and besides that, who cares? Darma will convince you that dancing under her tuition takes a new perspective: having fun, getting to know people, making new friends, which is more or less, what most of us need nowadays.
